Mediation is a completely voluntary and confidential form of alternative dispute resolution and can often provide a resolution to matters arising which ordinarily could lead to time taking internal grievances or employment tribunals.
Mediation involves an independent 'third person neutral' helping two or more individuals or groups reach a solution that's acceptable to all. The mediator can talk to both sides separately or together. Mediators do not make judgments or determine outcomes, they ask questions and facilitate the process, the intent being of helping the parties to identify and understand the problems and issues and to clarify the options for resolving their difference or dispute.
